Radical Aliveness Concepts

Radical Aliveness works with the intersection of systemic reality and emotional process, creating a space where hearts can be held with an awareness of world and social realities as well as family-of-origin issues. It is an environment where people from all walks of life, from all positions and roles, have space to be in relationship with each other and understand, feel, heal and transform on all levels of their being.

Radical Aliveness is eye opening, awareness growing, conflict resolving, and community making. It bridges gaps and promotes understanding, relationship and connection where profound differences have lived, and where we have despaired of solutions. It offers healing for individuals as well as for world and social issues, which of course are deeply connected.

Radical Aliveness is a way of working with human beings, groups, and organizations that is based on a foundation of Principles:

Cultivating a non-shaming heart and attitude

Knowing I don’t know

Welcoming multiple perspectives

Being willing to be changed

Saying YES to everything

We work with all levels of the human experience; the body, emotions, expression, movement, sensations, thoughts, beliefs, and spirit. Our goal is to support human beings to know and accept themselves fully so that they can navigate the here and now from choice rather than history and bring their gifts to life in whatever way that looks like for them.

Radical Aliveness starts from the understanding that human beings are powerful and have innate knowing. We walk with the people we work with respecting them as the authority on themselves. We have the awareness that we are all socialized and have learned to make sense of the world through a myriad of influences: family of origin, culture, language, ethnicity, class, religion, etc. , In this way we hold an expansive space that allows transformation to come not from a fixed theory and techniques, but through a process that invites the complexity of each human to be known and integrated.

Radical Aliveness gives people an opportunity to feel everything, all the way, their fear, their rage, their pain, their hate, whatever it is, and when they also have an opportunity to uncover their socialized thoughts and beliefs, and all of this in a non-shaming container, they become more able to live in constructive ways and with choice. When we are unafraid to know anything about ourselves because we know that everything in us is human – we become more able to see and feel parts of ourselves that would otherwise be hard to see and accept. We are able to make choices about ways we might want to change now that we have more information. From this place we can live from our  brilliance, all of our creativity, all of our energy because we are not afraid to let ourselves flow or be seen. This also allows us to see and receive others with empathy and understanding.

Radical Aliveness has a goal: A world where human beings can move past the polarization within and without, and walk this world in ways that bring connection, understanding, and healing.
